Weekly Maintenance Checklist

Five quick checks that keep Johnny Jaws running clean -- grease, air lines, spring, F-bracket, and hardware.

Quick Maintenance Walkthrough

Keeping Johnny Jaws in top shape doesn't take long. Run through these five checks once a week and you'll catch problems before they become downtime.

Grease the Zerk fitting to keep the moving parts lubricated and operating smoothly.

Check for air leaks in three places -- the airlines, the airbag, and the air lock at the bottom of the unit. Even a small leak can affect jaw performance over time, so it's worth a quick look.

Inspect the spring for any cracks. Same goes for the F-bracket. These are structural components and catching a crack early is a lot cheaper than dealing with a failure on the route.

Last, go through all nuts and bolts and make sure everything is tight. Vibration from daily use can work hardware loose over time.

Five checks, a few minutes a week, and your jaws stay ready to work.
