Run the Numbers For Yourself
Use our front-load route conversion tool to compare traditional routing, full conversion, retrofits, and Johnny Jaws using real operational inputs.
Step 1: Your Operation
Use ballpark numbers from a normal day on the route. This isn’t meant to be exact, it’s just a practical way to compare your options side by side.

Step 2: Compare YOur Options
Here's a side-by-side look based on the numbers you entered.
The Status Quo
Option 1: No change. Keep current rear-load routing as is.
Conversion Cost:
$0
Containers changed:
None
Operational Disruption:
Low
Note:
Productivity stays fixed while costs tend to rise over time.
Total Front-Load Conversion
Option 2: Replace rear-load containers with front-load containers.
Conversion Cost:
$--
Containers changed:
Replace All
Operational Disruption:
High
Note:
Highest upfront conversion cost, requires new containers and route changeover.
Fork Pocket Retrofit
Option 3: Modify eligible rear-load containers with fork pockets.
Conversion Cost:
$--
Containers changed:
Modify Some
Operational Disruption:
Medium
Note:
Only applies to 1–2 yard metal rear-load dumpsters, larger cans still require replacement.

Johnny Jaws
Option 4: Front-load flexibility without converting or modifying containers.
Conversion Cost:
$24,900
Containers changed:
None
Operational Disruption:
Low
Note:
Services metal rear-load dumpsters up to 4 yards on the same route.

Notes About this Comparison
This comparison uses the same basic assumptions across all four options and scales them using the numbers you entered.
The biggest differences come from conversion costs, container changes, and how much disruption each option introduces to your routes.
These numbers are meant to show relative differences between options, not exact budgets.
Step 3: Get A DEtailed Quote Tailored to your Operation
Share a few details and we'll reach out to see how your numbers did, answer any questions and provide a detailed quote.
This comparison uses a small set of consistent assumptions across all options so the differences are easier to see.
Service time per container
Rear-load routes are estimated at about 5 minutes per container, based on the typical 4–7 minute range. Johnny Jaws–equipped front-load trucks are estimated at 50 seconds per container.
Route time
Total route time is calculated by multiplying the number of containers per route by the estimated service time.
Operational value
Your daily operating cost is used to estimate a rough cost per productive hour. Time saved per route is multiplied by routes per day and operating days per year to show a directional annual operational impact.
Conversion costs
Full front-load conversion includes estimated container replacement and shipping only. Truck cost is excluded since it applies to all front-load options.
Fork pocket retrofits are estimated per container and apply only to 1–2 yard metal dumpsters.
Johnny Jaws uses the published installed price and does not require container modification.
These estimates are intended to show relative differences between options, not exact budgets. Actual results will vary based on route layout, access, container mix, labor structure, and region. For a more in-depth explanation, read our full White Paper and reach out with any questions.
